I explored breaking, smashing and manipulating ceramic materials to see how destruction can change how the audience perceives the work. I wished to challenge the accepted forms that ceramics take and construct a new visual language. I made a series of clay forms on the wheel, then destroyed them through different means to show how work can be created by destroying what has already been completed.
